The Grows
So, I never had Twelve Daze of Christmas in my head when I started growing, but one day sitting in the garage talking to the wife, we had this crazy idea to do this. I've sat down a few times to start this site and other things got in the way and I'm just now making moves on it.
That being said, I don't have photos of all the grows, so I'm just going to start with what we're working on now and go from there. Next time, I'll take more photos.
With this grow, I decided to do 4 plants at once. Up until now, I had only grown 2 plants at a time and it was manageable but the math said I had to get 5 more strains before Christmas, so I germinated 4 seeds.
A lesson learned...
With all 4 seeds germinated, the taproots on Critical + 2.0 and OG Kush were about 3/4" to 1" long and Larry Lemon and Northern Lights were not so long, about half that size. I put them all about 1/2" down in the dirt, covered them lightly with some extra soil and watered.
A few days later Critical + 2.0 and OG Kush had sprouted pretty good and I gave the others a few more days to show signs of growth. Well, Larry Lemon and Northern Lights "decided" they didn't want to grow, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt and let them go another 2 weeks.
At this point, it was clear Larry Lemon and the Northern Lights were dead and I had to make a decision. The decision was kind of easy since I didn't have time before Christmas to get all 12 strains done. I germinated 2 more seeds and waited for the taproots to be 3/4" to 1" long, and we now have all 4 plants going at once. They are just a few weeks apart.
We are just over 3 weeks in for Critical + 2.0 and OG Kush. Since they are Auto's, I have the light cycle 18 hours on, 6 hours off and so far we are doing well.
Larry Lemon and Northern Lights are a week old and are doing very well too.
Decided to go with a Cannatrol for drying and curing. I learned a valuable lesson on a 96 day grow of Zkittlez that went bad after I placed it in those Grove Bags.
The buds were a little thin so they dried out fast and I thought they were done. Seems there was a ton of moisture still in the stems and I had 12oz go bad... Never again!
We are at 4 weeks on the Critical + 2.0 and OG Kush and just about 2 weeks for Larry Lemon and Northern Lights and things are going well
If you look closely, you can see that Critical + 2.0 and OG Kush have switched to flower 😁.
